“Land of Stories” by Chris Colfer is about fairy tales, family values and adventure

There’s a mood when it’s winter, cold and blizzarding, when it’s New Year’s Eve, Christmas and the vacations. When we want magic and fairy tales. And the soul is warm because there are so many interesting and accessible books. But it’s cold, because how to choose the one that will create a festive mood and the right atmosphere. That’s where the professionals come to the rescue. And next up will be a bestseller recommendation, which ranks second in the New York Times after Harry Potter!

We all come from childhood…

We all come from childhood and as ourselves remember Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks, Snow White, Jack and Rumplestiltskin. After the misfortunes that befell the characters, fairy tales invariably ended with a happy ending. But haven’t you ever wondered what happened to them next? After all, this was only supposed to be the beginning!

Known to many actor Chris Colfer decided to try a new role – that of writer. Judging how he coped with this task is up to each reader, but the first positions on the bestseller lists speak for themselves.
So Chris Colfer took the liberty of telling us what happened to the characters we love. This sequel to the story will thrill and take us into a magical world.

The world in which the stories of favorite fairy tales intertwined, and the fates of the characters are connected by a tight knot, strikes the imagination. Here you can meet the Frog Boy, once transformed by an evil sorceress, selfish but vulnerable Little Red Riding Hood, insatiable wolves, magic fairies, the Evil Queen, who wants to sympathize, Snow White, who keeps secrets of others, and the happy Cinderella, waiting to replenish. Falling into this improbable world, Alex and Coner will get a chance to meet their idols in person and ask them about their future fate.

But in order…

Twins Alex and Conner, on their twelfth birthday, receive a book of fairy tales as a gift from their grandmother. By chance (or maybe not), the children “fall” into the book and find themselves inside the familiar pictures from their childhood. Here they walk the paths they’ve read about, meet the characters whose stories they know by heart, run away from danger, and get into new troubles. But no matter how much the children enjoy this world, their mother is waiting for them at home. The journey, however, is not an easy one. They have eight items to collect and make a Wishing Spell. Along with them, the Evil Queen, Snow White’s stepmother, who has escaped from prison, also hunts for the ingredients. The main problem is that the spell can only be cast once. Who will manage to gather all components first and use the only possibility to fulfill a cherished wish?

What does this book bring to the table?

Chris manages to deliver some valuable lessons with this incredible series. Amidst the thickness of sarcasm, humor and adventure, the author has subtly led the reader to some simple truths that we may subconsciously know. But until you say them out loud, you don’t realize them.

First, there is nothing wrong with being yourself. Second, don’t try to turn yourself into something you don’t want to be, that you’re not close to, just to please other people. And third, don’t neglect your own talents and abilities just because they may be different from others.
